Biography
Parentage; Date and Place of Birth
Elizabeth Percival, daughter of James Percival and Mary (Rainsford) Percival, was born on September 10, 1675 in Sandwich, Plymouth Colony.[1][2][3]
Early Life
Sometime after 1677 (when James Percival was Constable of Sandwich) but before 1692 (when he made his will in Saconesset),[4] Elizabeth's family moved from Sandwich to Saconesset (which was later renamed Falmouth).
Elizabeth's father died in 1692[4] and her mother died in 1694.[5] It is unknown who she lived with during the period after their death and before her marriage.
Marriage
Elizabeth married Joseph Ashley of Rochester. They may have been introduced by Samuel Prince, who had witnessed James Percival's will[4] and was also an active member of the Rochester Proprietors,[6] or perhaps one of the many Rochester settlers who had come from Sandwich.[7] Their intentions of marriage were published in Falmouth on November 24, 1703,[8][9] and their marriage was recorded in Falmouth records as having taken place on August 25, 1704.[10][11]
Children
Elizabeth and Joseph settled in Rochester and had seven children, all of whom were born there:
Thomas, b. February 21, 1704/5, m. 1st January 16, 1728/9 Phebe Freeman in Rochester, m. 2d January 19, 1749 (intentions) Mary Gifford of Freetown, d. 1762 (sources in Thomas's profile)

Elizabeth (Percival) Ashley died in Rochester sometime before January 1, 1728/9, when Joseph Ashley married his second wife, Mrs. Mary (Blashfield) Whitebridge.
