ELIZABETH JOHNS (1676-1731)

is the daughter of John Johns, writer, burgess, and guild brother of Glasgow, and his wife, Elizabeth Fleming. Elizabeth John's first husband, Walter Peter, died before 29 September 1714. On that date the Treasurer of Glasgow noted (John Whythill, debtor to the toun of Glasgow for his intromissions as treasurer, frae Michaelmess 1713, to Michaelmess 1714)......To cash from Eliz. Death

Elizabeth Johns died before 20 August 1751, the date upon which she was buried at Glasgow in Lanarkshire, Scotland. Her burial record reads as follows: "Eliseabeth Johns spouse to the desist Robert Fulton ..... hammerman" [Registrar General foe Scotland, New Register House, Edinburgh, Glasgow Burials, 1739-57, reference OPR.644/47].
