Elizabeth Ogle was born circa 1401 at of Ogle, Hepple, Shilvington, & Saltwick, Northumberland, England.2

She and Sir William Heron, Justice & Sheriff of Northumberland obtained a marriage license on 13 January 1412; Date of Papal Dispensation; related in the 4th degree. They had 1 daughter (Elizabeth, wife of Sir John Heron).2,3,4

Elizabeth Ogle married Sir John Middleton, Sheriff of Northumberland, son of Sir John Middleton and Joan Skelton, between 1 September 1425 and 1440; They had 1 son (Sir John) and 1 daughter ((unnamed), wife of Sir Edmund Hastings).2,3,4

Sir William's wife is called Elizabeth in the contemporary entry recording the marriage dispensation in the bishop's register [Surtees Society, vol. 164, p. 174 (1956)], though in the 1563/1564 visitation of Yorkshire she is called Anne [Harleian Society, vol. 16, pp. 233, 234 (1881)]. According to the Ogle pedigree in the late 15th-century "proto-visitation" of the North, she remarried to Sir John de Middleton, knight [Surtees Society, vol. 144, p. 55 (1930); the same remarriage is given in the 1563/1564 visitation of Yorkshire].

Biography Anne Ogle was born about 1401 Kirkley, Northumberland, England. She was the daughter of Robert Ogle and Maud De Grey.

Ann married first by dispensation dated 13 January 1411/12(they being related in the 4th degree), William Heron, Knt. Of Cornhill, Northumberland. He was sheriff of Northumberland. son and heir of William Heron, by Isabel, daughter of Richard Scot, of Newcastle. He was born about Oct. 1400. They had one daughter, Elizabeth. He was knighted before Feb. 1421/2. He received seisin of the manor of Croydon, Cambridgshire, on the death of his grandmother, Margaret Heron, in 1423. The same year he was the heir to his cousin, John Hawkeswell. SirWilliam Heron died 1 Sept 1425. His widow, Anne, married(2nd) (as his 2nd wife) John Middleton, Knt., of Belsey, Northumberland, Sheriff of Northumberland, son and heir of John Middleton, Knt., of Belsey, Northumberland, by Joan, daughter and co-heiress of Clement Skelton, Knt. They had one son, John, and one daughter, ______(wife of Edmund Hastings, Knt.). He was appointed ambassador for a truce with Scotland in 1459. His retinue captured Henry Beaufort, Duke of Somerset, near Hexham in May 1464.
