Emil Emery 81, Greenwood, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2007 at Methodist Hospital. Born on January 18, 1926 in Bloomfield, IN, he was the son of the late Emil Emery, Sr. and Vina (Dove) Emery. He was superintendent at Tousley-Bixler Construction for 40+ years before retiring. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Gloria (Grey) Portish Emery; three step children, Vicki, Larry and James Portish; one step-grandchild, Meagan Martin; and one sister, Irene (Sanford) Corbell. He was preceded in death by sister, Peggy Neill and two brothers, Vernon and Bob Emery. The Rev. Don Abdon will conduct a service at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 23 at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home, 1605 S. State Road 135, with visitation from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22 and from 10 a.m. until service on Wednesday. Emil Emery, 81, Greenwood, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2007 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born on Jan. 18, 1926 in Bloomfield, he was the son of the late Emil Emery, Sr. and Vina (Dove) Emery.

He was superintendent at Tousley-Bixler Construction for more than 40 years before retiring.

Survivors include: his wife of 34 years, Gloria (Grey) Portish Emery; three step children, Vicki, Larry and James Portish; one step-grandchild, Meagan Martin; and one sister, Irene (Sanford) Corbell.

He was preceded in death by sister, Peggy Neill; and two brothers, Vernon and Bob Emery.

Funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home, 1605 S. State Road 135, in Greenwood with The Rev. Don Abdon officiating.

Entombment will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today (Tuesday) and from 10 a.m. until service on Wednesday.
