NOTE from Craig Sheldon: According to the Civil Death registration of Emily Smith Green, formerly van Kerken, nee Jones, she died aged 70 years one month on 30 April 1910 at Whaal Kraal, Uitenhage. The registration was filled out by Emily's husband, Henry Green, on 31 May 1910. Source: FamilySearch.org

However, according to the Death Notice of Emily Smith Green, formerly van Kerken, nee Jones, she died aged 62 years, on 10 April 1910 at her husband's residence, Witboys Kraal, Uitenhage. This discrepancy seems to be a result of the fact that the Death Notice was filled out on 31 July 1911, over a year after Emily died. Source: Cape Town Archives

The Civil Death registration seems more likely as it was filled out only a month after Emily died, and the given age at death - 70 years one month - is a better match for Emily Smith Jones, born 30 Mar. 1840, than the 62 years given in her Death Notice.
