Ethan served in the Revolutionary War in the Second Regiment,under the command of Col. Joseph Spencer and Col. Samuel Wylly's sixth Company,under the command of Capt.Noah Hooker,of Farmingham,CT.He served from 4 May to 18 Dec.1775,marching by companies to the camps around Boston.He took post at Roxsbury and served durning the siege until experation of term of service,December 1775. Detachments of men engaged at the battle of Bunker Hill,on June 17,and in Benedict Arnold's Quebec Expedition,September to December.
