About Eustace de Stuteville
from fmgMedlands
5. EUSTACE de Stuteville . The Chronicle of Meaux, in Yorkshire names "Willielmum, Nicholaum, Eustachium et Robertum" as the sons of "Robertus…de Stutevylla, quondam dominus de Cotyngham", adding that all except Nicholas died childless[859]. "Eustachio de Stuteville, Willelmo de Stuteville, Ansel de Stuteville…" subscribed the charter dated to [1177/89] under which Henry II King of England donated the forest of Lillebonne to the abbey of Valmont, for the soul of "Roberti de Stuteville"[860].
from Early Yorkshire Charters - witnessed with his brother Robert as sheriff and brother Nicholas a charter of Geoffrey de Lascelles - he is probably the Eustace who with Robert his brother witnessed a charter by his brother William to Keldholme priory 1190-1201 - he held the manor of Brinklow in Warwickshire - he had a son named Robert, born and brought up overseas, to whom Nicholas de Stutteville II was ordered to restore land in Yorkshire in 1233 - it is likely that he is the Eustace against whom thurstan de Montfort brought a claim in 1208 - it is also likely that he is the Eustace who is mentioned in a record of 1213 relating to his tenure among other knights holding of the honor of Leicester in Warwickshire
