from Early Yorkshire Charters - he occurs with his father and other witnesses, being the rector and constable and all the halimote (town hall) of Knaresborough - he witnessed charters to Ripley and Castle with his father - on 9 July, 1203 king John while at Rouen, confirmed to Robert IV all his fathers lands, including Knaresborough and Boroughbridge and the forest of Westmorland, etc... - on the same day he granted his wardship and marriage to archbishop Hubert, and on July 4 granted custody of all his inherited lands and castles. - Robert IV de Stuteville died 5 August 1205, apparantly stilll a minor
