MR. F. BOECKMANN THE VICTIM, TANUNDA, January 18 1900 A sad accident happened to Mr F. Boeckmann of the old Wheatsheaf Hotel, near Gawler, yesterday afternoon. He was in a conveyance going down Rowlands Flat hill returning home, when the traces became loose and the jerking threw Boeckmann out, landing him on his head. This caused concussion of the brain. The unfortunate man was removed to Tanunda to Miss Wallents hospital, and attended by Dr Juttner. There were no hopes from the first, and Mr Boeckmann succumbed at midnight. The deceased was an old identity of the Gawler district, having lived here between thirty and forty years. A grown-up family survive. Detective Boeckmann of North Adelaide is a son.
