About Florence Andersson Anderson

Florence Andersson FOX was born on 18 November 1864 and baptised at St Peter's Church, Liverpool. Her middle name, Andersson, was her mother's maiden name. Under the 'Media' tab is a list of significant dates, including her birth date, which she might have written herself.

Florence was twice married and had a son and two daughters by each of her husbands. Her first husband, Richard RICHARDSON, died of consumption leaving her with three young children. Very soon she married Alexander Dunlop ANDERSON and had another son and twin daughters. Her first son, Douglas RICHARDSON, was killed in a flying accident in WWI. Not long afterwards her second daughter, Zoe, became pregnant and gave birth to an illegitimate daughter who was given up for adoption.

According to Florence's granddaughter, Jean, Florence was quick to criticise and was not a very warm person. (Perhaps she had a form of Asperger's. Her father was certainly quite geeky with all his gadgetry inventions). She would rarely be seen outside without a formal hat, even on the beach (see photos under 'Media').
