Richard & Frances (Lambe) Barnard were President Abraham Lincoln's Third Great Grandparents, Lincoln's Quaker roots. Their daughter Rebecca BARNARD Flowers (@ 1693 then Chester Co PA-1735 Chester Co PA) married 1713 Enoch Flowers (1693-?1730 then Chester Co PA) in Concord, Chester Co, PA and their daughter Rebekah Flowers married John Lincoln (Abe's Great Grandparents).
Richard Barnard was born 1654/5 Christian Malford a Parish in Wiltshire England – cir 5/5/1698 Aston, Chester County, PA.
Came to America on a William Penn ship in 1682 and settled in Chester County PA (in 1789 Delaware County PA created & he was in Middletown).
Married 1678 in Chippenham England to Frances Lambe (1654/1659 Kingston St. Michael, Wiltshire England – 1724 Chester Co, PA.

Minutes at Chippenham Meeting House on 21 Aug 1682 in Wiltshire, England has the following statement: "This meeting agreeth that John Sparrow & other Friends of Chippenham, do give Richard Barnett [Barnard] (now going to Pennsylvania) the sum of tenn shillings." In PA Chi-Chester Mtg & Concord Mtg.
Frances married 2) Thomas Bowater on 29 May 1702 at the Chester Quaker MH in Chester, Delaware Co PA. They were married at the Concord Meeting House. Thomas Bowater (1655-before 1724) was Sarah Edge’s widower, with two children.
Soon after their marriage, Thomas and Frances went from the Chester MM to the Concord MM to the New Garden MM, and next to Haverford MM, all in PA. It is likely they were also buried there as there are no further records indicating they transferred to another monthly meeting.

Buried in Chester County, PA or Delaware County, PA. Chichester Meeting Cemetery claims he's buried there with wife Frances. He may have been buried in his farm in Aston, PA.
