There is considerable evidence that many of the families represented in Family Group 6 of the West Family DNA Project descend from a woman named Elizabeth Gilliam. She lived in Virginia, and named sons Francis West and John West in her will. Unfortunately, there is currently very sparse information to help us identify her husband, and given the lack of records in many Virginia counties, this may remain the case.
