George Jackson Allen

George Allen was born in 1784 at Patrick County, Virginia. He was the son of Samuel Allen and Sarah Prater. George Allen came to Floyd County with his father around 1800 and settled on Beaver Creek. He owned tracts on Middle Creek and Brushy Fork. in 1800. He married Cynthia Patton, daughter of James Patton and Florence Graham, on 24 August 1801 at Floyd County, Kentucky. George Allen died circa 1848 at Floyd County, Kentucky. He was not listed in 1850 census so he probably died before the census.

In 1840 census he was listed as George Allen, Sr with household as follows:

1 male age 10-15, 3 males age 20-30, 1 male age 50-60, 1 female age 5-10, 3 females age 15-20, 1 female age 50-60. in 1850.
