- 9 Willem. The fourth son of Jan Burhans, was baptized at Kingston 7 March 1686, and married at Kingston 22 June 1731, Grietjen Ten Eyck, bap. 10 Feb. 1689, dau. of Matthys Ten Eyck and Jannetje Roosa, and widow of Gerret Newkirk.

- Willem married for second wife, 20 Sept. 1749, at Kingston, Catharina Kool, wid. of Jacobus Van Etten. She was born in Germany, but it has been impossible to ascertain her parents, or to find record of any children by this marriage.

- 1743 Nov. 10. He and his wife, Grietje Newkirk Ten Eyk, make a joint Will in which they leave their property to their children as follows: Cornelis Newkirk J'nr, Matheis Newkirk, Benjamin Newkirk, Coenradt Newkirk, Jannetje Newkirk wife of Gerret Elmendorf, Gerretje Newkirk, and Helena Burhans.

The will of Gerrit Newkirk, executed July 25, 1724, was probated Septer 3, 1724 [Ulster county Probate Records, American Record Series A, by Gustave Anjou, vol ii pg 110] His legatees were wife and five children, with provision for expecte child. HIs signature was Gerrit Newkirk. After his decease, his widow married June 22, 1731, Willaim Burhans, by whome she had one child, Helena Burhans, baptized May 14, 1732; married Oct 12 1749, Levi, son of Henry and Jacomyntje (Kunst) Palwing q.v. Levi Pawling was a Colonel in teh Revolution, Judge of Ulster County Courts adn generally esteemed.
