About Hannah Adelia Elutheria Brier
Hannah and Albert lived on Madison Street in Fairfield. Albert had a barber shop on a corner of the square. Hannah died of pulmonary tuberculosis at the age of 23. Her children Vera was 4 and Leslie 3.
Hannah Quick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Quick, was born in Jefferson County, Iowa, December 2, 1873, and all her life was spent in the neighborhood where she was born. She was married to Albert Brier, September 1891. Two children -- Vera, aged four years, and Leslie, aged three years -- were born to them. She was a member of the German Lutheran church since childhood. She was stricken with consumption about seven months ago, and was bright and cheerful in her affliction. She died Friday night, February 19th, at 11 o'clock, and passed to her reward peacefully and calmly. She was a warm friend and pleasant companion, and her loss is deeply mourned by those who knew her best. The remains were taken from her late home in southeast part of the city to the M.E. church, where services were conducted by Rev. JA Boatmann, and from then taken to the Evergreen cemetery and interred.
