Hester Delano

Family

Philip Delano married:

1. on 19 Dec 1634, Plymouth, Plymouth, MA to Hester Dewsbery. She died between 1648 and 1653. Her parents are not known.
2. by 17 Jan 1653 to Mary Pontus (1622 - ____). She was the daughter of William Pontus and Wybra Hansen and the widow of James Glass.

It is not clear how many children Philip Delano had, their birth years or which of his two wives bore them.The following is the current estimation. (Update on 2 October 2022)

Children attributed to Hester Dewsberry and Philip Delano:

1. Mary was born about 1635. She married Jonathan Dunham on November 29, 1955, and died childless.
2. Philip was born about 1637. He married Elizabeth Sampson about 1670 and had five children. He died in Duxbury in December 1708.
3. Thomas was born about 1639. He married Rebecca Alden by 1667, and had nine children. He died in Duxbury on April 13, 1723.
4. Esther was born about 1641. She was not mentioned by name in her father’s estate and may have been dead by then.
5. John was born about 1644. He married Mary Weston by about 1679 and had six children. He died in Duxbury after September 5, 1721.
6. Jonathan was born about 1648. He married Mercy Warren on February 28, 1677/8, and had thirteen children. He died in Dartmouth on December 28, 1720.
