About Ignacy "Ignatius" Trzebiatowski
1880: Grocer at 856 (1708) N, Franklin
Grocer and saloonkeeper on Brady Street in east side Milwaukee. Sometimes did business under the names "Felix Smith," "Felix Schmidt," and "Felix Trzebiatowski." In January 1897, his former use of a German surname earned him the (somewhat hypocritical) wrath of Hieronim Derdowski, editor of Wiarus. Reverted to using the name "Ignatius" upon receiving citizenship in 1892.
The Wisconsin Historical Society's property record for the Trzebiatowski building at 1115-1117 East Brady Street can be seen here.
