[ Dispute: RE: 2nd Wife: Some authors (including F. C. Pierce: James Savage and W. R. Cutter) indicate that Isaac married second Hannah Downing at Ipswich on November 25, 1678. His first wife Mary died on November 27, 1677 and Isaac married Martha Hale on March 16, 1679/80. If he did marry Hannah, she would have to have died shortly after this marriage (no death in Ipswich VR), and none of the children's births can be attributed to a wife named Hannah. This 'fact' is perpetuated in many texts since]

Isaac Foster was born in England son of Renald/Reginald and Judith Foster and came to New England in 1638 with his family, settling at Ipswich Massachusetts. His birth is estimated as about 1630, as he writes he is aged 62 in his will proved in March 1692/3. [1] [2] [3]
