Henson Walker Family Book by Jennie Walker Johson, IGI, Archive record, Church Memebership File From data I received at the records office in Nauvoo--it gives its source as Family Group Sheet-self Jacob was a Lieutenant in the Nauvoo Legion, 2nd Company, June 3, 1842 He owned property in Nauvoo---Kim: Blk 3, SW part 1/2 acre in south part 2nd counselor ot Bishop Matthew Leach in the Freedom Stake mear Payson, Adams, Illinois; second councelor to Levi Gifford in the stake presidency in Brown County, Illinois; Bishop of the Nauvoo, Illinois Fifth Ward, and Bishop of the east half of the New Fort Ward, Salt Lake Valley. Received his washing and anointing and Endowment in the Nauvoo Temple on 22 Dec 1845. The record says his wife was Margaret Mann in the sealing record. They were in the first/second company that day. He gives his birth date at this time as 25 January 1800, born in Franklin County Pennsylavania and is a High Priest. In the sealing record he gives his birth as 20 November 1800--same place They came to Utah in the first pioneer company and were in the Edward Hunter company (second hundred, second fifty with Jacob the captain) arriving 1 Oct 1847. Was originally baptized in Ohio in Febrauary 1834; received his Patriarchal blessing on January 10, 1844 in Nauvoo, Illinois. He is listed as a High Priest when he receives his endowment in Nauvoo. He is listed as a brickmason and a farmer. He served a mission in the Eastern States in 1841-42. He was wounded at Hauns Mill. In his redress petition for Hauns Mill he claims to have been robbed of $500. This is property and house. He settled there with his missionary who brought him the gosbel.
