Note: he is not a listed passenger on the ship manifest. In addition, his parents, Adam Mott & Sarah widow Lott, were married in Horseheath parish, co. Cambridge, England on 11 May 1635. Therefore changed to birth date / place of Abt. 1636 in Portsmouth, Newport Co, RI, as per Robert Charles Anderson, George F. Sanborn Jr and Melinde Lutz Sanborn, "Adam Mott, "Great Migration 1634-1635, M-P, 181-185.

Married
Jacob and his wife Joanna were residents of Portsmouth, R.I. Mr. Mott was deputy in 1674, and constable in 1687. He was one of a number who built, in 1699, the first house of worship erected for that purpose in the town of Dartmouth. He was a Quaker preacher.1
