Er heiratete 1920 Susanna, die älteste Tochter Albert und Lina Ortweilers und übernahm kurze Zeit später die Leitung des Ledergeschäfts von seinem Schwiegervater am Brühl 6. Am 10. November 1938 wurde er im Konzentrationslager Buchenwald inhaftiert. Mit dem Weimarer Deportationszug vom 10.
