He was a cattle dealer and lived with his wife Betty, née Schmitz (* December 3rd, 1886 in Kaisersesch) in Oberbieber, Mittelstrasse 64 (61?) (Today: Friedrich-Rech-Strasse 199, Neuwied, Oberbieber district). Jacob's brother Leopold Levy was persecuted as a homosexual by the Nazi judiciary and was murdered on April 3rd, 1942 in the T4 killing center in Bernburg / Saale

Betty's parents are said to have been Isaac and Pauline Schmitz, née Vogel (according to the Happel / Bäcker database). Lt. Georg Stockschlaeder came from Abraham (Jehudah Ben Ahron) Schmitz and Sara (Rosetta asked Menachem) Marx.

The couple had two sons, Kurt (* April 21, 1910, emigrated to New York, died in New York City in 1994) and Arthur Salomo (* January 12, 1914).

Jakob Levy was initially imprisoned from January 8, 1938 to September 22, 1938 in the Dachau concentration camp and until December 5, 1938 in the Buchenwald concentration camp.

On December 5, 1938, he was murdered in Buchenwald.

Betty Levy died on December 7, 1934 in Oberbieber. Her grave is in the Jewish cemetery in Neuwied-Niederbieber (Block D, Grave 5). On the tombstone is the name of her husband, Jakob Levy.
