James Broyles

James Broyles was a son of Jacob Broyles and Elizabeth Yowell. James married his first cousin Ellender Eleanor Broyles, daughter of Matthias Broyles and Eva Klug on October 22, 1792 in Greene County, Tennessee (Tennessee State Marriages 1780-2002).James Broyles, his parents, and his wife were all Descendants of the Germanna Second Colony of Virginia of 1717. James and Ellender were the parents of at least ten children:

5. Mathias (1803-1859) m. Ann Bayles(s)
6. Jacob (1806-?) m. Eve Burgner
7. Simeon (1812-1897) m. (1) Mary Longmire (1812-1854) and 9 children; (2) Sarah Borden (1823-?) and 5 children; (3) Marietta Hacker
8. Ephraim (1814-?) m. Mary C. Frazier
9. Ellender (1815-1891) m. (1) Leroy T. Irving and 1 son and (2) George Washington Gates and 7 children
10. Malinda (1818-1877) m. (1) Montgomery Range and 2 children; (2) John S. Crandall and 1 child

James Broyles made a Will in 1837 and it was proved in 1839. James appointed Ellender as Executor of his estate and mentions ten children by name. However, two daughters are not named in the Will
