Mary 'Polly' Mauk (Broyles)

*Mary "Polly" Broyles Mauk

Polly Broyles was a daughter of James Broyles (1769-1839) and Ellender Broyles (1774-?) and they were all Descendants of the Germanna Second Colony of 1717 of Virginia.

Polly Broyles married *Samuel Mauk (aka Mauck, Mauchinhauk) circa 1811 and Samuel was also a Descendant of Hans Peter Mauck, a German immigrant.

Polly and Samuel were the parents of eleven (11) children as follows:

4. John Mauk

7. Lucinda Mauk (1828-1905) m. Amos Bird
8. Tempa Mauk (1831-1908) m. Jesse Bacon Taylor (1827-1903)
9. Montgomery S. Mauk (1833-1902) m. Mary Eveline Ward
10. Jacob S. D. Mauk (1836-1909) m1. Josephine Presnall and m2. Susan Jane
11. Elijah Embree Mauk (1838-?) m1. Nancy Kirk and m2. Lula Click

Notes:

• Mary "Polly" Broyles was also known as Sarah Broyles despite being listed on historical records as either Mary Broyles or Polly Broyles. (See WikiTree Profile).
• Samuel Mauk's brother, Joseph Mauck married Polly's cousin, Grace Broyles (daughter of Mathias Broyles and Eva Klug).
