James was convicted of stealing clothing and sentenced to 7 years transportation. He arrived in Sydney Cove on 26/1/1788 on "Friendship"

James was sent to Norfolk Island

James married Elizabeth STEEL in November 1791 at Norfolk Island

James joined the NSW Corps in 1794

James married Jemima ROUS in October 1795 at St Phillips

James married Mary PAGE on 7/3/1810 at Sydney

James left the colony in 1810
