About Jane Andrews
1. John1 Andrews, called Lieut. John Andrews or John Andrews, Sr., to distinguish him from Corporal John Andrews and two others of the same surname who lived at the same time at Ipswich, Mass., was born in England, it is supposed, about 1621,* and died at Chebacco Parish, in Ipswich, 20 Apr. 1708. The names of his parents have not been found.j He married Jane Jordan, daughter of Stephen of Ipswich, later of Newbury, Mass., who in his will dated 5 Apr. 1667 mentions his daughter Andrews of Ipswich, his son John Andrews, and his grandchild Elizabeth Andrews.! Jane (Jordan) Andrews was living in 1705, when her husband made his will.
"John Androuse, Seniour, of Sebacco in Ipswitch . . . yeoman," in his will dated 13 Mar. 1705 [1705/6] and proved 17 May 1708, mentions "my Eldest Son Jn°. androuse," "my second Son William Androuse," "my Son Thomas androuse," "my Son Joseph Androuse," and "Elizabeth my Daughter wife of James Giddinge." *

Jane was the daughter of Stephen Jordan and his first wife, whose name is unknown. Some genealogies identify her as Susanna or Susanna Peacock of Denham (Buckinghamshire), England, but there is no evidence for this.

In a 1701 deposition, she was identified as being 79 years of age, placing her birth closer to 1622.[2]
Death
She died after 1705 (the date of her husband's will), probably in Ipswich, Essex County, Massachusetts.[3]
