Jeanie Campbell Stewart was born in 1851 (a) in Avondale, North Lanarkshire, Scotland, a daughter of John and Jeanie (Campbell) Stewart. She known as "Janet".
On 31 Dec 1869, Janet Stewart married Henry Semple (1849-1918) in Stonehouse, South Lanarkshire, Scotland. They became parents of nine children including William Semple (1871-1944); Jane Campbell (Semple) Whitelaw (1872-1953); Janet (Semple) Lang (1876-1953); John Semple (1879-1941); Henry Semple, Sr (1881-1953); Marion (Semple) Mauchline (1883-1955); Thomas Semple (1886-1953); Agnes Nancy (Semple) Haddon (1889-1974) and Isabella "Isabel" Semple (1891-1969).
In Jan 1871, Janet Semple, age 21, was living with her husband, Henry a coal miner at age 20, and son, William age 1 month old, at Kirk St, Stonehouse, Lanarkshire, Scotland. Henry worked as a coal miner from 1857 to 1913.
In 1912, Janet Semple, husband Henry and their family emigrated from Larkhall, Scotland to Arrow Park, Arrow Lakes, British Columbia, Canada.
On 16 Feb 1925, Janet Semple, age 75, died at 1:45 p.m in Arrow Park, B. C., Canada, as informed by, son-in-law, William Mauchline of Arrow Park with arrangements by undertaker Mr E. Somers. She was buried in Glenbank Cemetery, Nakusp, B. C., Canada.
