John Bean, Jr. was born after the death of his brother, also named John Bean. [1] He is a member of Clan MacBean, He was a farmer and a carpenter, following in the steps of his father. he signed the New Hampshire Petition of 1690, withnessed Edward Gilman's will on Jun 2, 1690, witnessed two other legal documents on March 15, 1698 at Exeter.
He received a Land Grant from the Town of Exeter of 60 acres on March 28, 1698 and on May 10, 1700, he bought 25 acres of land from Byley Dudley.
He served in the militia in the Indian Wars from 1690 to 1710, and took part in the attempt to rescue his three nieces, who were kidnapped by Indians in July, 1710. During that year, he served under Captain Gilman, and under Captain Davis, in 1712. He served in the Port Royal Campaign, in 1710. [2]
When he died, he left a comfortable estate to his heirs. His estate was committed to his wife for administration in probate on the day of his death, June 3, 1719. the estate was appraised by his brother, Jeremiah, on August 20, 1719. After his death, his widow married a man with the surname of Robinson.
