About John Boone
John Boone was born on November 10, 1745 in Exeter, Berks County, Pennsylvania. He was the son James Boone, Sr. and wife Mary Foulke. He was known as John Boone, Jr., to distinguish him from his uncle and his cousin with the same name.
John married Sophia Weidner, daughter of Peter and Susanna Weidner. Sophia was born c.1748. They had three children. John died on March 29, 1773, at age 27..
John followed in his father's footsteps and became a tanner, operating a tannery in Alsace, Berks County, about 90 miles from Exeter. His widow sold this tannery and remarried to Mr. Biddle.
