About John Studholme Brownrigg
John Studholme Brownrigg, the first of six children of Henry Brownrigg and Mary Alcock of Ireland, was an Officer in the British Army, 38th Regiment of Foot. He served in Boston and New York City in 1781. A Mason, he also served as Senior Grand Warden, Provencial Grand Lodge of New York, and was a member of Lodge 441.which was created by the Grand Lodge of Ireland in 1765 in the 38th Foot, and was one of the founding lodges of the Provincial Grand Lodge of New York. He married Lydia Eames and fathered three sons, Henry Fox, John Studholme Jr., and William Crosbie Brownrigg.
