About John Harris, Jr.
John Harris was born on August 8, 1658, in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, the son of John Harris, Sr. and Hannah (Briggs) Harris. John Harris the elder died by 1664, and his (2nd) wife, Hannah (Briggs) Harris married Wolston Brockway, Sr.[1] John Harris the son of John Harris and Hannah Briggs was raised in Lyme, Connecticut by his mother Hannah and his step-father Wolston Brockway.
John Harris married by 26 Feb 1691/2 Mehitable Danks, daughter of Robert and Elizabeth (Swift) (Webb) Danks.[1]
John and Mehitable had (probably) four children -
- John Harris b. Northampton, Massachusetts in 1696,
- Mary Harris "the Indian captive",
- Philip Harris of Simsbury, Connecticut, and a
- Thomas Harris who lived at Saybrook in the 1730s.[1]
Death
John Harris died between 1696 and 1702, probably near Springfield, Massachusetts.[1]
His Widow
Mehitable married as her second husband John Sackett II on 17 May 1703 at Westfield, Massachusetts.[1]
