III. 2. JOHN HASTINGS, son of JOHN and ABIGAIL (HAMMOND) HASTINGS, birth not recorded, but was baptized December 4, 1687, with his two younger sisters.

He married (1st) in Watertown, November 2, 1702, SUSANNA, daughter of JOHN and MARY (Harrington) BEMIS. She died November 15, 1703, aged 21.

He married (2d) January 8, 1706, SARAH, daughter of NATHANIEL and MARY FISKE, who was born in Watertown, July 4, 1684.

He was administrator on his father's estate, and resided in Watertown until about 1731, when he removed to Lunenburg; was among the earliest settlers of that town. No record of their deaths is found.

Their children were:

  • IV. 1. SARAH, born in Watertown, November 8, 1707; married DANIEL RUGG of Lancaster, Mass., published April 6, 1756.
  • IV. 2. SUSANNA, born in Watertown, April 4, 1710.
  • IV. 3. JOHN, born in Watertown, February 4, 1712.
  • IV. 4. NATHANIEL HASTINGS, Son of JOHN and SARAH (FISKE) HASTINGS, born in Watertown, June 9, 1714; married in Lunenburg, May 21, 1741, LOIS HOUGHTON. She died March 2, 1788, aged 66. He died March 15, 1804, in his 90th year. They had 12 children. .,,
