John Henry Bryan was born 1844 in Missouri, son of John "Jack" Wesley Bryan and Verlina (Callaway) Bryan.

Around 1867, his wife was Mary J. Bryan. The 6 children of their Bryan family include Lizzie (1868), James Wesley (1870), Kate, John Caldwell (1875), Oscar M (1878) and Lee (1881) Bryan.

On February 2, 1883, John H. Bryan, age 38, died in Lamar County, Texas.
