Verlina Callaway (a) was born about 1814 in St. Charles County, Missouri, daughter of John Boone Callaway and Elizabeth Callaway. Her father was the grandson of the famous frontiersman, Daniel Boone.
On February 14, 1833, she married John "Jack" Wesley Bryan in Warren County, Missouri. The 9 children of their Bryan family include Elizabeth Jemima (1834), Emeline L. (1835), Laura A. (1838), Lutitia (1839), Amelia C. (1841), John Henry (1844), James S. (1846), Joseph W. (1848) and Susan O. (1851) Bryan.
In January 1853, she and her husband were named together on a deed transaction which is the last record of her name recorded.
Sometime after 1853, Verlina (Callaway) Bryan died in Lamar County, Texas.
