MEMORIAL: Gravesite unverified

John Wesley Bryan was born around 1809 in Missouri, son of Henry Bryan and Elizabeth (Sparks) Bryan.

On February 14, 1833, he married Verlina Callaway in Warren County, Missouri. The 9 children of their Bryan family include Elizabeth Jemima (1834), Emeline L. (1835), Laura A. (1838), Letitia (1839), Amelia C. (1841), John Henry (1844), James S. (1846), Joseph W. (1848) and Susan O. (1851) Bryan.

Sometime after 1853, his wife, Verlina, preceded him in death. John married again two more times. On August 19, 1858, he married Elizabeth Alexander. It is uncertain what became of Elizabeth as on February 11, 1867, John married a third time to Ann Stewart. Her son lived with them, believed to be Charles Thomas Stewart (a).

After 1880, John "Jack" W. Bryan died.
