State of Missouri, County of Ray: To the Constable of Richmond township greetings. Complaint being made to me Joseph H. Ball a Justis of the peace within and for said county upon the oath of John Vanderpool of said county that some time in the month of April or May last part, James W. Smith and Joseph Bones did cut down or cause to be cut down and across a public road leading from Richmond to Clay county in the said county contrary to the ___? of the statute in such can made and provided, you are therefore required to summon the said James W. Smith and Joseph Bone forthwith to appear before me or some other Justice of the peace for said county to show cause why the penalty of fifteen dollars should be levied on them for those said offence according to the said statute and those make return of the warrent. Given under my hand this day of June 1830. Joseph H. Ball
