Enlisted in the Revolutionary War among the Dutchess County Militia and fought for the regiment of Colonel John Field. Also, future U.S. President & General George Washington once stayed at his house during the war.
John Waring owned a farm of some two hundred acres in Southeast, Putnam County, New York.
