About John Albert Wartman
John "Jack" Wartman, 93, of Pierceville, died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010, at The Shepherd's Center in Cimarron.
He was born Aug. 5, 1917, in Johnson City, to Charles and Ruby Leigh Wartman.
A resident of Pierceville since the early 1930s, Mr. Wartman worked as a self-employed rancher in the Ingalls and Pierceville area. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include a sister, Betty Clark of Sedgwick. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Tom, Calvin, Alvin "Hoot," Delmar and Pat Wartman; and three sisters, Herma Snodgrass, Blanch Streeter and Winonna Mackey.
Funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. Military graveside service will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
