Josiah served his county as VA Militia Minuteman in the Revolutionary War. DAR# A073619
Josiah was the first of eight children born to William and Prudence Comstock Maples.
His siblings were Noah, John, Mary, Joseph, William Cordra, Elizabeth and Wilson.
Josiah married Ruthea Sweeney in 1765 in Halifax County, Virginia.
Josiah and Ruthea had (according to my records) 14 children: William Cordra (an American Revolution & War of 1812 patriot); Nancy, Ruthea; James; Elizabeth; Josiah; Peter C.; Moses; Elijah; John W.; Jesse; Thomas; Ephraim; another Nancy; and Pleasant Calvin.
Josiah served his county as VA Militia Minuteman in the Revolutionay War.
