Keziah Baldwin

Keziah Prudden, dau. of Rev. John Prudden of Newark, s. of Rev. Peter Prudden, of Milford, from Yorkshire, England, was b. c1691 at Milford, New Haven, Conn.; married with ELNATHAN BALDWIN, son of John Baldwin and Ruth Botsford. About 1730 he moved to Hopewell (Pennington), Hunterdon county. His will was proved Aug. 1739, dated 1738. She died c1730 at Hopewell.

Children were: Stephen, Moses (of Hopewell), Thomas (a ruling elder of the Presby Church), Joseph (of Hopewell), Elnathan, and dau. Ruth (m. Burt).

Biography

Keziah was born about 1696, the daughter of the Rev. John Prudden and his wife Grace Judson. A small history written by Reverend Hale of Hopewell Township, New Jersey, records the marriage of Keziah Prudden, daughter of Reverend John Prudden, to Elnathan Baldwin. Rev Prudden moved to Newark (now Essex Co.), New Jersey in 1692, so Keziah was probably born there. Keziah married Elnathan Baldwin abut 1711, probably inNewark. They had six children: Stephen about 1712, Moses about 1714, Joseph, Ruth, Thomas and Elnathan about 1724. The family migrated to Hopewell Twp. (now Mercer Co.), New Jersey.
