Lavinia Baker

I first found Lavinia and her husband on a hand-drawn family tree in the Buchanan family. Her sister Edith was my great-grandmother.

Ancestry shows [New Zealand marriage index 1840-1937] that Lavinia Adams married William Henry Baker in 1900 in New Zealand (record not viewable online).

On Find-a-Grave [online], photographs of her headstone (which names her as 'Vina') show she was born 2 November 1876 and died on 14 November 1927 aged 51. She was buried at Shortland Cemetery, Thames, Waikato. The site also has a photograph of the newspaper notice of her death and funeral arrangements.

Continuing the search on Ancestry, we find this couple had a son, Wilvyn Percy Baker, born in Tasmania in about 1901. He became a solicitor in Auckland, and died in 1962 in Auckland. His wife was called Louisa.
