Maria Florence Adams was baptised on 11 August 1870 at St Barnabus Church, Braddan, Isle of Man [original document viewed online at www.imuseum.im on 30 Dec 2018], her parents named as James and Anne Adams B.A., of Douglas, and his occupation schoolmaster. This was the last of their children to be born on the Isle of Man before the family set off for New Zealand in September 1870.

Alternatively known as Florence Maria, she appears in the NZ Electoral Roll of 1905-6 in Thames, Waikato, living with her parents James and Annie in Baillie Street. In the 1911 Electoral Roll she shows up, still a spinster, living with her brother James Henry and sister Vera Constance in Queen Street, Thames.
