Lee and two of his three siblings were born in Sanilac County, Michigan after his parents returned from a brief sojourn to Indiana.
He married Ethel Lewis about 1909 and they began their family in Sanilac County.
On 07 August 1916, he emigrated to Canada where he remained for over a year before bringing his wife and children north to Battle River in Alberta, where they are found on the 1921 Canada census.
By 1926, they had come to Spokane where they are listed in the city directory at E3617 Bridgeport Avenue, and where Ethel died the following year.
Lee worked as a logger in camps and, for that reason, is absent from the 1930 US census. By 1940 he is working as a driver and still residing with his unmarried children Allen and Anna. The 1950 city directory has him still residing with Allen at E1223 Sanson Avenue. Inscription:
