He died in the service of the Confederacy on April 20, 1862 in the State of Arkansas and is buried in Camp Nelson Confederate Cemetery in Little Rock, Arkansas. His will probated in Rusk County, Texas appoints his brother, James W. Little as legal guardian for his minor children.
