About Lorenzo Dow Coon

Lorenzo owned property at the mouth of Pond Fork. It was here that the last Indian battle took place in August, 1783 which is now Boone County. Several Indians were buried on the site. Lorenzo once plowed up an Indian tomahawk in his garden that ended up in the collection of the noted historian David E. Johnston.
