Louis J. Stenke
Louis J. Stenke, son of Rudolph and Minnie Pinno Stenke, was born in Jackson County, Minnesota on July 29, 1896. He received his education at the country school, also in Jackson County.
He was baptized and confirmed at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kimball Township.
He was united in marriage to Ruanna Mohlmann on December 16, 1926 in Selma Township. After their marriage, they farmed in Cottonwood County until the early 1930’s. After this, he worked at various jobs until 1945 when he became employed by the railroad. He retired from his work in 1962. Louis served in the United States Army during World War I.
Louis passed away at his home in Bingham Lake of an apparent heart attack on Monday morning, September 5, 1977 and had attained the age of 81 years, 1 month and 6 days.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Ruanna; two sons, Robert of Monticello, Minnesota; Rolland of Honolulu, Hawaii; two daughters, Lorraine Stenke and Mrs. Nelson D. (Esther) Seffel, both of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren; also surviving is one brother, Walter Stenke of Jackson, Minnesota; three sisters, Mrs. Fred (Elsie) Oeltjenbruns of Mountain Lake, Minnesota; Mrs. Henry (Irma) Elsing of Butterfield, Minnesota and Mrs. Ralph (Dorothy) Forstrom of Tucson, AZ.
