Biography == Margaret was born about 1598 daughter to Archibald Roberton of Stonehall, Lanarkshire, Scotland.

Margaret married Mr David Dickson, son and heir of John Dickson of Busbie, on 23 September 1617≤ref name="Fasti">Fasti Ecclesiae Scoticanae; Vol 1; pages 64-65≤/ref>. They had at least seven sons and possibly daughters as well.

When her husband died in late 1662, Margaret was executrix of his estate.
The widow Margaret Roberton as executrix of Mr David Dickson of Busbie, professor of divinity in College of Edinburgh, made Factories in 1663 to Mr Alexander Dickson of Wester Binnie, professor of Hebrew in that College, her son, and by Mr Archibald Dickson his brother, to him tomanage specified affairs. ≤ref>National Records of Scotland GD172/2486 see [http://catalogue.nrscotland.gov.uk/nrsonlinecatalogue/details.aspx?...]≤/ref>
On 27 October 1664, Margaret Roberton assigned various sums of money to her sons Mr Archibald Dickson and Mr Alexander Dickson. Margaret died about 1666.

Chapter XIX] Accessed 22 Aug 2021≤/ref>. This seemsto be an error. There is an error in naming her sons, as it repeats the name of Archibald.
