The parents, James Taylor and Martha Thompson, had 9 children, the few eldest not born there at Bloomsbury, but most were reared there:
2. Martha was born 27 Jan 1701/02 in King and Queen County, Virginia; before her parents settled in the area of Virginia that would become Orange County. She married Col. Thomas Chew and passed away in 1782. they had eight children, and their grandson Thomas Chew (1777-1846), held Captain Lawrence of the frigate Chesapeake as he died, saying "Don't give up the ship!"
