Not the same as Mary "Polly" Adkins
William Atkinson (Adkins) and Elizabeth Parker were married on January 17, 1716 at St. Johns Church in Richmond, Virginia. Their son Parker Adkins married Mary; her first name is known from a land deed.

PARKER V. ADKINS - Page 5.
Parker and Mary lived on the South side of the Pigg River (Story Creek area) in the Snow Creek District of what is today Franklin Co. Va. At the time of their marriage the area was in Halifax Co. becoming Pittsylvania in 1767, Henry in 1776 and Franklin in 1785. They owned at least 175 acres of land bordered by the Pigg River on the North and the Story Creek on the east (see Halifax Survey b. 1 pg 197). They lived on this land until Parker was about 50 years old and all their children were born here except Sherrod B. who was b in Fincastle Co.
To date there is no record of a will, estate settlement, etc., that would name all of Parker & Mary's children, however, death records, tradition & other sources fairly well prove the following:
CHILDREN OF PARKER AND MARY ADKINS (not in order of birth) - Page 6.
PARKER V. ADKINS (WILLIAM V., JOHN THOMAS, JOHN THOMAS, THOMAS, HENRY) was born Abt. 1720 in Machumps Creek, Henrico, Virginia, and died Abt. 1792 in Montgomery County (Giles), Virginia. He married MARY Abt. 1754 in Halifax County, Virginia. She was born Abt. 1720.

Another list of children:
This profile represents the wife of Parker Adkins and mother of his children. Her origins are not known. And it is not even known if one woman was mother of all Parker's children (although DNA evidence suggests one woman was mother of Keziah and Charity and each child born between those two).
Mitochondrial DNA results of direct-line female descendants (down two different female branches) indicate she was of European origin.
Some have suggested her maiden name was Fry and that she was daughter of John Fry and Catherine French; there is no evidence to support this. Among those delving into the pros and cons was Ronnie Adkins in his book which listed the maiden name of Parker Adkins' wife, Mary (or Polly), as unknown and wrote about his reasons for coming to that conclusion..Based on her estimated marriage to Parker, Mary was likely born about 1730.
She died about 1777.
