About John Baldwin Sr. ===He was a founder of Milford and married (1) Mary Camp in Milford. In 1654,he was selected to be Marshall of the settlment, and commission as Sgt. ofthe Milford militia in 1658. In that year, he married (2) Mary Bruen. His
homelot was #13 on the west side of the river. He joined the church on March 19, 1648 and was the only tailor in Milford. His name is on a memorial stone on the Bridge over the Wepawaug River in Milford, Conn. (pictured right).
--- Parents --- :Some sources suggest that the parents of John BALDWIN to be:::Sylvester Baldwin (1600 - 1638) This is not likely due to Sylvester's son John's age at the death of Sylvester (4yrs) and his age (8yrs) if he married Mary Camp. This is not logical ::Sarah Bryan Baldwin Astwood (1606 - 1669) :This parentage is highly unlikely for many reasons.
